New Introductory Course in Skill Development

Learning how to learn is rapidly becoming a key factor for success in today’s complex, ever changing society. In our knowledge-based economy, with a strong goal and high performance orientation, we are more dependent than ever before on collaboration. We all know how to collaborate to some degree, but is it always enough for the diverse situations we find ourselves in?

Skillfulness in collaboration is made up of many smaller skills. In this course we will teach you how to further develop two of these; perspective seeking and asking clarifying questions.

Through the learning activities included in this course, you can expect to improve your skillfullness at:

● Building trust?
● Creating mutual understanding?
● Problem solving?
● Avoiding unnecessary conflict?
● Making better decisions?

We will guide you through 5 steps in this process:

Through this structured and systematically organized combination of information and exercises, your skills in these areas will be developed and improved. In addition, you will learn a natural way of learning that you can apply to future skill development.

In collaboration with two students from the Department of Pedagogy and Lifelong Learning at NTNU, we offer (free) a 4-week course in skill development, starting February 27. at 10AM.

The course is in English.

You will also meet the learning mentors who will support your learning throughout the course.

The first exercise for skill development will be introduced, and after the workshop you will be ready to start your individual practice related to perspective seeking.

Course week 2

06.03.2022 – 12.03.2022

This week you will start and finish Level 3, before moving into Level 4 of the learning platform. In Level 3 you will be introduced to some more learning resources to deepen your knowledge about learning skills before you start practicing the second skill in this course – clarifying questions.
